Spinach and lentil Curry
SOPPU PALYA
2 cup chopped spinach
1/2 cup tamarind pulp
1 cup thuvar dal
2 cups scraped coconut
1 tbsp coriander seeds
1 tsp turmeric powder
4 red chillies
oil as needed
2 onions
salt to taste
Soak the dal in water pressure cook and churm.
Boil spinach and add to the dal.
Heat 1 tbsp oil.Fry coriander seeds and chillies.
Grind these with coconut and tamarind pulp.
Add the ground paste to the dal mixture .
Add turmeric and salt . mix well .
Chop onions and fry in 4 tbsps oil till brown.
pour over the dal and poil once. Serve with boiled rice .
