Mixed lentil pancakes
PARUPPU ADAI
1 cup rice  2 green chillies 
1 cup thuvar dal  2 onions 
1 cup urad dal  a pinch of asefoetida
1/2cup moong  dal  a few curry leaves 
1/2cup chana dal  oil as needed 
6 red chillies  salt to taste 
* Soak the rice and all the dals in water for 6 hours.
* Grind them with red and green chillies,asafoetida and salt to the paste.
* Add finely chopped onions and curry leaves.
* Make the batter to a poring consistency.
* Heat a gridle, smear with oil and pour a spoonful of the batter.Spread into a circle and apply oil around the paruppu adai.
* Cook on the two sides.Serve with chutney or sambhar or butter.
