| 1 litre milk | 1 tbsp raisins |
| 1 tbsp rice | 1/4 tsp saffron |
| 1 cup sugar | 4 cardamoms |
| 1 tbsp cashewnuts |
* Boil the milk with rice and cook till the quantity is
reduced to half.
* When the rice is very soft add sugar and cook till
the payasam is thick and creamy.
* Garnish with cardamom powder,fried cashewnuts and raisins.Add
saffron dissolved in a teaspoon of milk.Serve hot or cold.
