Jack fruit curry
CHAKKA CURRY
1 small jack fruit (unripe)
2 small onions
1 coconut scrapped
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp turmeric
powder
5 tsp coconut oil
4 green chillies
a few curry leaves
1 tsp cumin seeds
salt to taste
Smear oil on the hands.
Remove the thorny skin and centre part of the jackfruit and cut it into small pieces.
Cook the pieces in salt water till soft . Drain and reserve.
Grind cumin seeds , green chillies, turmeric and one onion . Add the coconut scrapping and grind coarsely.
Add to the jackfruit and cook till well blended.
Heat 5 tbsp coconut oil and fry the mustard seeds, curry leaves and one chopped onion. Pour over the curry.
Simmer for a few minutes .Remove and serve.
