Onion Friters
VULLIPAYA BHAJJI
| 1 cup gram flour (besan) |
2 large onions |
| 1 tsp rice flour |
a pinch of asafoetida |
| 2 tsps chilli powder |
a pinch of soda bicarb |
| 1 tsp coriander seeds |
oil as needed |
| 1/2tsp turmeric powder |
salt to taste |
* Sieve the besan and mix rice flour, chilli powder, crushed
coriander seeds, turmeric powder, asafoetida, soda bicarb and salt to taste.
* Add one tablespoon hot oil.
* Add water and mix all the ingredients to a thicker
batter.
* Chop onions finely and mix with the batter.
* Heat oil for deep frying.Drop spoonfuls of the batter
into the hot oil. Deep fry in batches,drain on an absorbent paper and serve
hot with chutney.
