Onion Friters
VULLIPAYA BHAJJI
1 cup gram flour (besan) 2 large onions
1 tsp rice flour a pinch of asafoetida
2 tsps chilli powder a pinch of soda bicarb 
1 tsp coriander seeds  oil as needed 
1/2tsp turmeric powder salt to taste 
* Sieve the besan and mix rice flour, chilli powder, crushed coriander seeds, turmeric powder, asafoetida, soda bicarb and salt to taste.
* Add one tablespoon hot oil.
* Add water and mix all the ingredients to a thicker batter.
* Chop onions finely and mix with the batter.
* Heat oil for deep frying.Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil. Deep fry in batches,drain on an absorbent paper and serve hot with chutney.
