Lenthi Balls-Mysore Style
MYSORE BONDA
2 cups urad dal a pinch of asafoetida
2 tbsps fresh coconut pieces, a pinch of soda bicarb
4 green chillies  salt to taste 
cut into tiny slices  oil as needed
* Soak urad dal in water for 8 hours.
* Clean and grind to a dry, smooth paste
* Add chopped green chillies, asafoetida, coconut pieces, soda bicarb, curry leaves and salt.
* Add two tablespoons  hot oil.Mix throughly.
* Heat oil for deep frying.Make small lemon sized balls and deep fry into bondas.
* Remove each batch and drain.Serve with chutney or sambhar. Soak all the dals together for 4 hours.
* Grind them to a coarse (fairly dry) with red chillies, green chillies and asafoetida.Add chopped onion, curry leaves, salt and soda bicarb.
* Add two tablespoons of hot oil.
* Heat oil for deep frying. Make small balls,flatten and deep fry in batches in hot oil.
* Serve with chutney.
