Lentil and Rice Cakes

| salt to taste |
| 3cups parboiled rice |
| 1 1/4cups urad dal |
* soak the rice in boiling hot water for 6hours.
* soak the urad dal separately in cold water for 6hours.
* Grind the rice separately slightly coarsely;grind
the dal very fine.
* Mix both together with salt and leave aside for fermentation
overnight.
* Next morning,smear the idle moulds (available with
all the cookware shops)with a little oil.
* Pour a spoonful of batter in each idli mould and cook
covered in a steamer or pressure cooker,without the weight,for 7 to 10
minutes.
* Remove and serve hot with chutney or sambhar or mulahapodi
