Lentil Balls
AMAIWADAI
| 2 cups chana dal |
2 onions |
| 1/2cup thuvar dal |
a pinch of asafoetida |
| 1/2cup urad dal |
a pinch of asafoetida |
| 1/2cup moong dal |
a few curry leaves |
| 10 red chillies |
oil as needed |
| 2 green chillies |
salt to taste |
* Soak all the dals together for 4 hours.
* Grind them to a coarse paste(fairly dry)with red chillies,
green chillies and asafoetida. Add chopped onion, curry leaves, salt and
soda bicarb.
* Add two tablespoons of hot oil.
* Heat oil for deep frying.Make small balls,flatten and
deep fry in batches in hot oil.
* Serve with chutney.
