Konlani Fish Curry

500 gms fish (pomfret)
1/2 coconut
4 tomatoes
4 onions
4 red chillies
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander seeds
4 green chillies
1/4 cup tamarind pulp
a few curry leaves
oil as needed
salt to taste
Roast and grind the red chillies , turmeric, cumin seeds and coriander seeds .
Scrape and grind coconut in to a fine paste and mix with the masala.
Heat 4 tbsps oil and fry sliced onion , ground masala and chopped green chillies.
Add chopped tomatoes and salt; Add half a cup of water. setaside.
Cleen and cut the fish and wash well. Smear salt and turmeric powder .
Add the fish to the sauce and cook .
When the fish is cooked, add the tamarind pulp and simmer till well cooked and blended.
Garnish with curry leaves .
