* Vijayakanth conducted free marriages for 66 couples, presenting all of them with free marriage gifts. Lakhs of his fans participated in this milestone celebration. While addressing in front of his fans, Vijayakanth said that he will enter into politics.


* Actor Kamalhassan established a library as his gift to the locals of Ayothiyakuppam, Chennai, Tamilnadu, at a cost of one and half lakhs of rupees. On his birthday, instead of 'Ponnaadai', he collected hand-woven sarees and dhotis from his fans and presented those gifts to the inmates of the old-age home. Also, he signed an agreement, giving his consent, that after his demise, his dead body should be handed over to the medical college students, for their dessection of his body to aid their studies-oriented research!
