•  Actress Padmini acted in films for 30 years continuously! Savithri has acted so for 28 years.
• The first film in which Jayalalitha paired with M.G.R. is "Aayirarhthil Oruvan", produced by 'Padmini Pictures'. The year of it's release was  1965.
• Saroja Devi teamed with M.G.R. in 24 films. Jayalalitha in 28. M.G.R.-Jayalalitha combination in films was the most welcome one among the fans in those days.
• The unforgettable film role to Sivaji Ganesan done by himself (Sivaji Ganesan) is not simply one or two......but so many. Among them the role of 'Sikkal' Shanmugasundaram in "Thillaanaa Mohanaambaal" is one. Sivaji himself is said to have stated this in an interview.
• Aringnar Anna followed a very curious method of writing stage dramas. He gets himself locked up inside a room the whole night and starts writing down the page numbers first, on the respective papers. Then he indulges in actual story-writing with express speed! He puts down the written papers one by one on the floor as he goes on writing! In the early morning he lies down at a corner of the room and falls asleep. When the room is opened in the morning, the entire space of the room is seen filled with papers scattered here and there. If one picks up all the papers and sets them in order according to the page numbers, then he gets a complete story!

• The moment he saw "Mullum Malarum", popular producer A.V.Meyyappa Chettiyar assured others that one day Rajini would definitely become a super star! Not only that. He (Chettiyar) also purchased the distribution rights of that film for specific areas giving extra money to those who had already got  area rights! Chettiyar's foresight didn't fail him. The film became a super-hit!
• Playback singer S.P.Balasubramaniam has composed music for the films, "Thudikkum Karangal" and "Kaathal Yenbathu Yethuvarai".
• In the year 1986, 47 films under the music direction of Ilayaraja were released. It's a world record!
• Actor Sathyaraj has written story for a film. It's name is "Suya Roopam".
• Actor S.V.Sagasranamam has written dialogue for the film "Paiththiyakkaaran"!
• 'Kalki' Sadasivam has written dialogue for a film. The name of the film is "Meera" acted by his wife M.S.Subbulakshmi.
• So far, the following novels of popular writer Sujatha have been made into films: "Priya", "Ninaiththaale Inikkum", "Vikram", "Karaiyellam Shenbagappoo", "Jannal Malar", "Anitha", "Ilam Manaivi", "Kayathri" etc.
• Popular writer Saandilyan has written dialogue for the film "Amma".
• Kavingnar Kannadasan has dictated a whole song (lyric) on telephone, creating it (lyric) word by word at the time of telephonic dictation itself! It was for his own film (produced by Kannadasan), "Karuppu Panam". He had written the story, dialogue and lyrics for the film and had acted also in it! For creating a particular lyric for this film he sat down with the music director. First he created the following 'pallavi': "Kaiyile Panamirunthaal Kazhuthai Cooda Arasanadi....Kaithatta Aalirunthaal Kaakkai Cooda Nadiganadi"--- as he was dictating this, an urgent work outside the recording theatre demanded his immediate presence. So he abruptly stopped dictating and instantly went out. Seeing him coming out of the recording theatre, the production manager wrongly thought that entire lyric dictation work was over. So thinking he (production manager) arranged for song-recording the very next day. So, as per the callsheet, all members of the concerned music troupe assembled at the recording theatre. Music director M.S.Viswanathan arrived and asked for the lyric script. Only then it was noticed that the lyric remained incomplete at the 'pallavi' stage. But since the music troupe had assembled, Kannadasan was immediately contacted over phone and the situation explained. He too instantly remembered how the lyric had been left incomplete the previous day! So he, with lightning speed, became mentally prepred for the further dictation of the balance lines of the lyric over the phone then and there itself. Earlier he asked the production manager at the other end to read out what had already been written as 'pallavi'. As the latter finished reading, Kannadasan started dictating the balance lines which began like this: "Poyyile Neenthi Vanthaal Puluganellaam Thalaivanadi, Poosaari Velai Seyyum Aasaami Sooranadi". In this manner Kannadasan finished dictating all the 16 lines over the phone. It was written down by an assistant at the other end. Within a few hours from then the whole song got recorded to the satisfaction of all concerned!
