Business Magnate Sandeep Paatiyaa

Chennai- June 8, 1998: Popular Tamil actress Gouthami - Computer Business Magnate Sandeep Paattiyaa marriage took place at a 5 star hotel in Chennai, Tamilnadu on 7th June 1998. The marriage ceremony was conducted following the ritualistic formalities of both North India and South India.

                Actress Gouthami has acted opposite popular, great heroes like Rajnikaanth, Kamal Haasan, Vijayakaanth, Sarath Kumar, Sathyaraj, Prabu, Karthik, Bagyaraj and so on.
Gouthami and computer business magnate of Mumbai Sandeep Paattiyaa fell in love with each other. Both, with the consent of their respective family, decided to marry.

                        Accordingly on 7th June, 1998 morning their marriage took place at Taj Coromandel Hotel in Chennai. For this, the marriage hall in the hotel had been decorated with flowers. Dressed in red colour pattu saree with jari border and wearing the same colour jacket and around her neck wearing gold necklace and mango-shaped 'aaram', ottiyaanam on her hip and head hair decoratively beautified with flowers the bride Gouthami came to the marriage stage at 8-30 a.m. Instantly marriage rituals started. Gouthami sat before 'poorna kumbam' and indulged in meditation. Then oothuvars related manthras. The marriage time was nearing. But the groom and his people couln't arrive at time. The bride, her parents and others were eagerly awaiting them. At last the groom and his group of people arrived into the hall at 9-45 a.m. a liitle behind schedule.Sandeep was wearing  pattu vetty and pattu chattai (shirt).

                    The marriage rituals were performed according to the traditions of both south India and North India. At 10-20 a.m. to the peal of 'ketty melam', Sandeep tied the 'Thaali' around the neck of Gouthami. Next both of them came around  the marriage pedestal thrice with both of them holding together each other's hand, with their fingers crossed with each other's.

                    Earlier on behalf of groom's house a cream colour pattu saree with jari border  and blouse were given to Gouthami. Receiving that Gouthami went into the private room and came out wearing that new dress. Then 'sumangali' ladies with 'neyy vilakku' in their hands welcomed the bride and singing song led her to the marriage stage.

                    After the marriage Gouthami and Sandeep sat face to face and each of them spilt green rice (grains) on the other's head.

                    Indian Central Ministers Rangaraajan Kumaramangalam, Mukthar Abbaas Nagvi, B.J.P. General Secretary Vengaiya Naidu, Deputy President Bangaru Lakshmanan, writers Cho, Siva Sankari and friends and relatives of the married couple atteded the function and conveyed their blessings.
